A 10 to 14 ft great white shark was spotted at a fish market in Sousse, Tunisia.
The Corsica–Research Group on Mediterranean sharks posted the photos on their Facebook page October 27th.
According to the description Tunisia has signed an international treaty to protect white sharks, yet there doesn’t appear to be any policing in this market.
It is assumed the shark was bycatch.
The group also believes a white shark breeding area maybe located between the Tunisian and Malta coast, which causes concern that an adult female was caught.
